The Story

My clients, a delightful couple with two young children, came to us looking to transform their entire first floor into a more refined, yet family-friendly space. Inspired by Shelter Island’s woodsy shoreline, we chose a coastal palette of blues, whites, and greens, with warm textures, walnut finishes, and touches of brass. Our goal was to elevate our client’s home into an elegant, functional, vibrant, and livable retreat filled with life and warmth. Highlights include a custom-built fireplace with reclaimed wood mantel, a cozy kitchen nook with a built-in banquette, clean-lined furniture in performance upholstery, fabulous grasscloth wallpaper in cool tones, and a blue & white kitchen island large enough for the whole family to gather.
